Computer
Computer is the the most wonderful gift of modern science. It is an electronic device that manipulates information, or data. It has the ability to store, retrieve, and process data. We can use a computer in type documents, send email, play games, and browse the web. We can also use it to edit or create spreadsheets, presentations, and even videos. It is a technology which is used in offices, banks, educational institutions, etc.
Computer was not invented overnight. It took long time and hard labour to invent computer. A British professor named Charles Babbage developed this device first in 1812. There are three parts in a computer. They are 1. Central processing unit, 2. Input and 3. Output. The central processing unit is the brain of the computer. The input part receives signals and output part gives the result.
Computers are of three kinds analogue, digital and hybrid. An analogue computer can solve the different problems of mathematics within a short time. A digital computer can do varieties of thing. Now a days a computer means a digital computer. A hybrid is a combination of digital and analog computers. It combines the best features of both types of computers. It has the speed of analogue computer and the memory and accuracy of digital computer. Hybrid computers are used mainly in specialized applications where both kinds of data need to be processed.
In less than 50 years, computers have influenced practically every field of activity. Many of the routine activities today are being performed by computers. Use of computers has reduced the paperwork. Now most of the work is done directly on the computers. The traffic in large cities is controlled by computers. Automation in banks and railway stations have provided relief to the public and staff alike. Ticketing and reservation have become more efficient and convenient Various types of games like chess and cards can also be played on computers. In medical diagnosis, computers are being used to locate and investigate accurately and precisely abnormalities and diseases. Business transactions and high volume of associated data are easily managed by using computers. Information technology is all based on the use of the computer.
Now we are becoming highly dependent on the computer technology. No one can imagine life without computer. It enhances our skills and helps us in getting job easily. Thus, it is a very useful device.

কম্পিউটার রাতারাতি আবিষ্কার হয়নি। কম্পিউটার আবিস্কার করতে অনেক সময় এবং কঠোর পরিশ্রম লেগেছে। ১৮১২ সালে চার্লস ব্যাবেজ নামে একজন ব্রিটিশ অধ্যাপক প্রথম এই ডিভাইসটি তৈরি করেন। একটি কম্পিউটারে তিনটি অংশ থাকে। সেগুলো হল 1. কেন্দ্রীয় প্রক্রিয়াকরণ ইউনিট, 2. ইনপুট এবং 3. আউটপুট। কেন্দ্রীয় প্রক্রিয়াকরণ ইউনিট হল কম্পিউটারের মস্তিষ্ক। ইনপুট অংশ সিগন্যাল গ্রহণ করে এবং আউটপুট অংশ ফলাফল দেয়।
কম্পিউটার তিন ধরনের অ্যানালগ, ডিজিটাল এবং হাইব্রিড। একটি এনালগ কম্পিউটার অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে গণিতের বিভিন্ন সমস্যার সমাধান করতে পারে। একটি ডিজিটাল কম্পিউটার বিভিন্ন ধরনের কাজ করতে পারে। বর্তমানে কম্পিউটার মানে ডিজিটাল কম্পিউটার। একটি হাইব্রিড হল ডিজিটাল এবং এনালগ কম্পিউটারের সংমিশ্রণ। এটি উভয় ধরণের কম্পিউটারের সেরা বৈশিষ্ট্যগুলিকে একত্রিত করে। এতে রয়েছে অ্যানালগ কম্পিউটারের গতি এবং ডিজিটাল কম্পিউটারের মেমরি ও নির্ভুলতা। হাইব্রিড কম্পিউটারগুলি প্রধানত বিশেষায়িত অ্যাপ্লিকেশনগুলিতে ব্যবহৃত হয় যেখানে উভয় ধরণের ডেটা প্রক্রিয়া করা প্রয়োজন।
